Problems with your oil cooling system include oil leaks, coolant leaks, oil in the cooling. Over time, an oil cooler seal can fail due to wear or age. Coolant travels through the oil cooler and helps remove excess heat from your engine oil so it can operate at optimal temperature. Shut engine down to inspect with light and drip (estimate every 5 to 6 seconds) from behind the water pump pulley just forward of water. Your oil cooler seal helps keep the coolant and oil separated. When I get engine to normal operating temperature I see a drip from behind the WP Pulley. If it is, I suppose i'll take it to a different dealer, have it fixed under warranty, and go back to the sketchy Chevy by my house with proof, and possibly a lawyer. For your reference with water pump leak, I believe I have a current water pump leak (2014 LT 116, 000 miles 1.4 Turbo). Please let me know if this looks like the water pump is leaking. So him telling me that just makes me suspicious. I told the dealer, what if I put UV dye in my coolant, and pressure test it, and can prove the water pump is broken, can I get my 130$ back?(what i had to pay just for them to look at it) He then told me a refund wouldn't be possible because it wasn't leaking when they gave it back (however these pictures are from a video I took before it even left the lot, so I have timestamps to go with this). The engine mount below the air intake, and next to the water pump usually has coolant over it. If you all wouldn't mind looking at my pictures and letting me know what you think. 11) Tighten the 3 engine oil cooler bolts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft). 10) Install the engine oil cooler inlet pipe bolt (4) and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in). , COOLANT IN OIL OR OIL IN COOLANT CHEVROLET CRUZE CHEVY SONIC., Engine Replacement. 9) Install the engine oil cooler bolt (5). , 2012 Chevy Cruze Engine Oil., Chevrolet Cruze Engine Oil Cooler. Over the phone I was told if the water pump was bad, they would definitely want to fix it because they get paid extra because it's under warranty, however I'm not sure how true that is. 8) Install the oil cooler inlet hose to the water outlet and install the oil cooler inlet hose clamp (1). Once I took my car to the dealer, they told me that my water pump was "completely dry" and if there was any coolant on it, its because my turbo lines are splashing onto it (geometrically impossible?) and that I should replace all of my turbo lines. I do have another leak that recently sprung up, and it's one of the coolant lines that runs to the turbo, this is VERY recent (within last week or so) and the water pump has been leaking for a few months, well before the turbo line started. Well as you can assume that is not what happened. I am aware of the special warranty coverage on our water pumps, and was anticipating taking it to the dealer and having it fixed for free. As mentioned the pcv needs to be addressed first (re-route kit, or new intake + valve cover). The LT model should come with a 1.4 liter turbo engine (the base 1.8 liter did not have a turbo). I believe my water pump is leaking, and has been at a very slow rate for a few months now. Leaks at the cam seals, oil pan seal, crank seal, and others can be caused by this tiny little check valve.
